- working according to the ‘goods to man’ philosophy
- a closed shelving system in which the goods are stored on special trays arranged in two rows of shelves (equipped with storage spaces) between which a lift (up and down movement) moves to transport the trays between the storage space in the shelving and the service (consultation) window.
- optimum use of storage space thanks to the active adaptation of the height of the shelves to the height of the goods currently stored, with minimum handling distances from a safety point of view.

Lift racks are used wherever:

VERTIMAG® automatic stacker cranes are the ideal solution for storing goods that vary considerably in weight and dimensions (height, length, width). It is a recommended solution for the storage of heavy loads (no imbalance as in carousel racking).

The use of VERTIMAG® automatic lift racks translates into a number of benefits:
1. You save time, improve ergonomics and safety at the workplace
Access to the stored goods is fast (the lift device used is very efficient), ergonomic (‘goods to operator’) and safe (photocells ensure operator safety).
2. You increase the security of the stored goods
The system of authentication and control of access to the stock stored in the rack ensures the safety of the stored goods. It is also possible to program access only to specific shelves.
3. Save space -> reduce storage costs
The trays are placed in both rows in order to maximise the capacity (height) of the lift system (the system measures the height of the goods on the tray at the entrance and finds the most suitable place to store the tray). The use of the Lift Rack reduces storage costs and frees up space that can be used for other purposes (this is particularly noticeable when storing flat items or low-volume packages, as the unavoidable free spaces in conventional shelf racks are reduced to practically ‘zero’ by the Lift Rack).
4. Reduces operator training costs
The rack is easy to use, equipped with an ergonomic touch panel or LCD monitor with keyboard. The software with which the operator communicates with the rack has a clear and intuitive interface. The system will not only indicate where an item is stored on a particular tray, but will also ensure that the load on the tray is even (there is a scale built into the consultation window).
5. You can control your stock levels in real time
The software used in the rack allows the stock levels to be controlled on an ongoing basis (working on safety buffers). It is possible to set a minimum level for each stock, below which a system of automatic notifications is activated to remind you to replenish depleted stock.
