Cantilever racking

Cantilever racks are an excellent addition to the PROMAG S.A. range of storage racks. The arrangement of the racks enables high density of stored goods, which contributes to maximum utilisation of the volume of a warehouse or yard where the racks would be located.

The simple construction of cantilever racking ensures efficient operation and easy manoeuvring of stored goods. These racks can be used both indoors and outdoors. In the latter case, cantilever racking can be fitted with a canopy to protect the stored goods from rain.

In order to meet the customer’s expectations regarding the load-bearing capacity of the rack, all its elements are selected individually, so that the structure purchased meets all safety requirements and at the same time allows the storage of materials with parameters defined prior to purchase.

The individual approach to the customer and the original design of the available space make it possible to develop an economic solution that combines the durability and strength of the structure with the best purchase price available on the market.

PROMAG S.A. racks have a bolted structure made of welded elements. Cantilever columns are made of I-beams. The brackets used are bolted to the columns as standard. The strength of each element of the structure is based on the assumption of uniform load distribution. This means that the rack structure is designed to carry the maximum load but is not oversized. In order to optimise the design of a cantilever racking structure, the customer should first determine the parameters of the goods to be stored. Not only is the maximum weight of the goods to be stored important, but also their length, which determines the number of uprights and their spacing.

The cantilever racking is designed so that each cantilever supports the specified load and the sum of the loads per cantilever on a given storage level does not exceed the maximum value.

In addition, the rigidity of the structure is ensured by vertical bracing fitted between the rack columns.

Thanks to our large production capacity and technical and design background, we can design the necessary accessories that determine the safety and adaptability of the system to the storage of goods with different specifications.

When storing oval goods, for example, it is also important to have the right angle of the arm to ensure the stability of the load. Each upright can also be fitted with an element that prevents the goods from slipping out of the rack. As standard, such an element is placed at the end of each upright.

PROMAG S.A. offers two basic types of cantilever racking:

• single sided cantilever racks (RWJ)
• double sided cantilever racks (RWD)

The choice of system depends on the space available to the customer. All supporting elements are supplied painted or galvanised.

Cantilever racking is available in the following types depending on the type of work:

• stationary cantilever racking
• mobile cantilever racking

Depending on the type of goods stored, these cantilever racks can be operated manually or by forklift truck.
