Selection of warehouse racking
Is there a universal storage system that works in every warehouse? Of course not. It’s important to understand that not every type of warehouse racking can be used for storing all kinds of products. The choice of a storage system depends on many factors, the most important of which are:
- the physical form of the assortment and load units
- the adopted storage technology
- the volume of stored inventory and turnover rate
- the handling method
The most commonly used storage system in warehouses worldwide is pallet racking. As the name suggests, it is designed for storing loads on pallets, which are the most frequently used type of load unit.
Standard racking
Standard pallet racking is the most basic and straightforward type of warehouse racking in terms of design and application. Their versatility allows for the storage of both palletized goods with a high degree of variety and non-palletized goods, thanks to a wide range of additional accessories.
Pallet racking perfectly fulfills its primary function, which is storing loads placed on pallets. The racking structure allows the storage system to be adjusted to the size of the pallet and the weight of the goods stored on it.
Drive-in racking
Drive-in pallet racking allows for better utilization of warehouse space compared to selective pallet racking, but it requires significantly higher operational precision. Mobile racking

Pallet flow racking
Flow racking channels are equipped with rollers set at a minimal incline. This allows pallets to move under the influence of gravity to the opposite end of the racking. They are primarily designed for storing goods with a short shelf life.
Push-back racking is a simplified version of flow racking, where the racking is operated from only one side.
CART PUSH-BACK racking
Cart push-back pallet racking allows for the storage of up to 6 pallet load units per bay. The movement of goods in cart push-back racking occurs on special sliding carts along inclined rails (3-4%) installed within the racking.
